It never hurts to do some networking. It’s even better to just adopt the habit of actively keeping in touch with your base of professional contacts when you’re out there by yourself freelancing. Having played the freelance game for a little over a year (then getting a full-time gig), I can attest to this. Going at it all by yourself, though noble in its cause, is, well… just plain dumb. Sure, you’re your own boss and all, but are you an accounting expert? Are you a lawyer?
