Roles
I have always taken pride in being well-rounded my personal life, and my professional experience has been no different. While you’ll often find people who focus their education and attention on one discipline of marketing or design, I have focused on several. With a formal education, practical experience, and transferable skills in each area listed below, I am most at home in a role that encompasses them all. Above all, I’m a resourceful self starter and multi-tasker who excels in fast-paced working environments.
Marketing Direction
As a marketing director, I have been responsible for the coordination of all marketing, advertising, and promotional initiatives within a company. This includes performing market and pricing research to determine a company’s market position, and pricing points. In developing and implementing marketing plans/campaigns, I have regularly analyzed campaign progress and reported results to C-level executives. Working in this role has also allowed me to be responsible for budgeting, managing staff, and acting as a liaison to all external vendors and agencies. This role has given me experience developing strategies for sales and business development staff while managing the production of custom proposal packages for new business.
Art Direction
Working as an art director, I have established the conceptual and stylistic direction for design staff and as well as the work of external photographers, pre-press technicians, and printers. I have also been responsible for developing style guides to include logo usage, color, typography, and overall visual style of a company’s brand identity. This role has also allowed me to be responsible for the design of collateral materials, point-of-sale displays, signage, and sell-sheets.
Digital Marketing
Working as a digital marketing manager, I have experience developing, executing, and delivering online marketing strategies. This includes planning and budgeting for SEO, new media, email, and web-based marketing. I have also been responsible for the management of online branding and communication campaigns both internally and externally. Finally, performing this role has allowed me to be responsible for continually improving the design, usability, content, and conversion points of a company’s web properties.
Web Design & Content Development
As a web designer, I have determined and developed the user interface and experience for sites (being responsible for site-navigation design and visual execution). Light front-end coding and site traffic analysis are often a part of this role, with the back-end, database-driven coding performed by a web developer or programmer. As a content developer, also known as a web writer or editor, I have been responsible for the production and formatting of content on sites. This role has often included the content management of social media channels to include LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and company blogs- both internal and external.
